| A brief History of Believer's Assembly Church in Beach City,Ohio. In early 1981 a group of Christians living in the southern Stark and northern Tuscarawas county's realized a need for a full gospel church in the area. Within a short time, a temporary location was set up located at the American Legion hall in Strasburg, Ohio. The first service was held on Father's day in 1980. By 1982 the congregation was looking to expand. Several buildings were considered, but the final decision was made, an unfinished basement house. It didn't look like much, but with a few interior walls removed, benches added and it was ready to go. The first service was held in late November 1982. Let's get out of the basement! By 1984, the congregation was ready to expand again. An architect was located and the blue prints were drawn. The only thing missing was the funding. The Lord stepped in and supplied the funds. This was supplied by a generous local businessman who has since gone to be with the Lord. The size of the basement was doubled, and a ground level floor added. Services have been held ever since in the new sanctuary with classrooms located in the basement. Although many people have come and gone over the years, and they are all missed. We are looking forward to meeting them again in heaven. In 2009 we opened a Community Food Pantry for low income families. The needs within the community are great and we felt led to step up and reach out to the community. |
